Can you believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner? If you’re not feeling the holiday vibes yet, don’t worry—they’ll hit you by the weekend! Pretty soon, every ad on TV, radio, and everywhere else will be all about Black Friday deals coming at you nonstop.

Amazon kicked off its "Black Friday Week" on Thursday, November 20th, and it's running all the way through December 1st, "Cyber Monday." That’s the day the internet gets a serious workout handling all the shopping madness. Every store—whether it’s a physical shop or an online-only spot—is dropping exclusive deals. This year, folks in the U.S. are expected to spend around $622 each during the Black Friday-Cyber Monday (BFCM) shopping frenzy. That’s a tiny drop of 4% compared to last year, but no worries—people are still super into it! A whopping 82% of shoppers are planning to snag some deals during BFCM, making it the biggest slice of holiday shopping yet, according to research from Bain and Deloitte.

Got a budget for everyone on your gift list? Smart move! Sticking to it is key, though, because holiday shopping can spiral out of control if you’re not careful. When my son was little, Christmas was always a big deal. He’d write out his list, and honestly, he didn’t go overboard—no crazy expensive stuff most of the time. Back then, over 30 years ago, we didn’t have all the fancy electronics like today. Let’s be real, those gadgets can seriously mess with your budget!
